R&M Middle East & Africa Provides Career Guidance and Employment Opportunities to Students at Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – 31 May, 2012 - As part of its efforts to educate the younger generation about the structured cabling industry and to attract fresh talent, Reichle & De-Massari (R&M) Middle East & Africa, the Swiss structured cabling specialist, participated in the Astrolabe Career Forum 2012 at Paris-Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi.

The company received an overwhelmingly positive response from students and has even decided to recruit trainees to strengthen its local presence in the region.

Jean-Pierre Labry, Executive Vice President of R&M Middle East and Africa found the event to be excellently organized and expressed a strong willingness to participate in future editions of the forum. “We chose to participate in the event to show our support for Paris-Sorbonne University in the UAE. This career forum is very beneficial to students as it gives them a rare opportunity to interact with so many professionals from diverse businesses at a single event. We on our part were very keen to generate awareness about the massive potential in the structured cabling industry,” he said.

“I was highly impressed by the charisma of these aspiring professionals. We received a number of inquiries. I see tremendous benefit, for both students as well as organizations, in participating in such events and can only hope that other universities in the region follow this lead. To effectively compete in today's global market place young professionals require a strong education backed with real-world experience. Thanks to this initiative, the students of Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi can receive both of these,” added Jean-Pierre Labry.

R&M, who have a local presence in countries such as UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan and Egypt, strongly support such initiatives and have participated in similar events in Saudi Arabia and Oman as well. Martin Reichle, owner & Executive Board Member of Reichle & De-Massari (R&M), personally advocates such forums and the company has attracted fresh talent through its participation in such events.

Pr. Jean-Yves de Cara, Executive Director of Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi said, “Without the active participation and engagement of organizations such as R&M, Astrolabe 2012 Forum would not have been possible. I would like to thank the R&M team for their great support which has made possible this important platform of dialogue between Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and the business community.”

This is the second year that Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi has conducted the Career Forum event which featured eight round-table forums that were held five times through the day. The event was attended by over 40 professionals from a broad range of industries, including public relations and non-profit organizations. It gave both undergraduate as well as master's students the opportunity to interact with these professionals.
