Qtel to operate Pearl-Qatar network

 
Qtel has signed an agreement with United Development Company (UDC), the master developer of The Pearl-Qatar project, to acquire the full communications infrastructure of the urban development in Doha. 

Pearl-Qatar is a residential development on an island spanning over 4 million square metres of land. As per the agreement, Qtel will now own and operate the network of The Pearl-Qatar, enabling residents to enjoy voice, high-speed broadband internet and Mozaic TV entertainment services in their homes and offices. Source telecompaper.com

    Price comparison site launches in UAE

    Dubai: Bkam.com, a price comparison site, has officially launched its UAE platform on Tuesday.

    Launched in Egypt in 2012, the site provides consumers information on a product, including price, reviews, and retail locations. It offers a range of products, such as consumer electronics, cosmetics, clothes and accessories sourced from both online fashion brands and e-commerce sites. These include Souq.com, Namshi.com, JadoPado.com, Carrefour, as well as H&M and Zara.

    Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) has introduced a new electronic system for processing daily and visitor passes for land and seaborne traffic into and through Abu Dhabi ports - the 'e-Pass'.
    With over 1,500 daily passes and an average of 150 visitor passes handled every day, the new 'e-Pass' system is expected to significantly reduce processing and waiting time for customers.

    Huawei denies Nokia bid plan

    Huawei has denied it has plans to acquire ailing handset vendor Nokia after a report linked the companies.
