UAE launches 'My Number, My Identity' campaign
The UAE's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has introduced the 'My Number, My Identity' campaign, as part of efforts to register mobile subscribers.
Run with operators Etisalat and Du, the campaign aims to increase awareness of the new registration procedures. The campaign highlights the importance of the mobile subscribers' role in protecting their SIM cards, which are national resources that should be used responsibly. These should not be given out to other users to avoid any misuse that may occur, as the registered owner of the number will be legally and financially accountable. The new procedures require the licensees to fully update the personal data of all mobile subscribers to ensure the accuracy of information provided to the regulator.
