Batelco launches "Samm3ni" for mobile

Batelco has signed a deal with Rotana to gain exclusive rights to Rotana content including Rotana’s music library. Batelco, as the Kingdom’s leading mobile services provider is delighted to add “Samma3ni” exciting new service, which features the latest and most popular Arabic music, for its mobile customers.

 
Rotana, established in 1987, has grown to become the leading producer and distributor of Arabic music and films with the highest revenue generating mobile content corporation in the Middle East, North Africa, the Gulf and Europe.

Batelco General Manager Consumer Division Muna Al Hashimi said that Batelco was very pleased to enter into an agreement with Rotana in order to launch Samm3ni and deliver exciting music content for its customers.

“Rotana is a huge name in the film, news and music industry in the Arab World. Furthermore, Rotana has recently announced that it will base the headquarters of it latest news channel, Al Arab, in Bahrain, which will further strengthen their presence here. We are proud to align the Batelco name with theirs,” added Mrs.  Al Hashimi.
   
Batelco’s customers have a choice of options to access Rotana’s comprehensive libraries of music.  Batelco’s postpaid mobile customers can subscribe to Samma3ni by sending R to 4400 and for only BD1 per month they can  download 25 tracks of their choice each month. There are no additional or hidden data charges when browsing Samma3ni website or downloading songs via mobile phones and the subscription will automatically renew each month.

 For prepaid customers, Batelco has launched a special edition of SimSim Samm3ni Starter Pack priced at only BD3. The subscription boasts a once-off line up of fantastic benefits including 50 minutes of free local calls on Batelco network, BD1 credit and 25 free music tracks. Once registered Samm3ni subscribers can continue to enjoy 25 music tracks for only BD1 each month by sending R to 4400.

If customers prefer to just download individual tracks occasionally they can access the Samm3ni music library  on their mobiles by visiting http://rotana.o.com.bh and download individual tracks for only 100 fils per track.

Through Rotana.o.com.bh customers can browse and download the top 20 songs downloaded by Batelco customers and the latest Rotana albums. Included in the latest line up are the newest albums by Elisssa, Haifa Wahbi, Waleed Al Shami, Ahlam, Hatem Al Iraqi, Kadhem Al Saher, Shereen, Abdulla Rowaished and Molhem Zain.

Additionally, Batelco has just made available the latest releases by the well-known artist Abdulmajeed Abdulla, with four new songs which can be downloaded by sending the relevant number to 4400 as follows:

    Huawei’s Mideast revenue up 18pc in 2012

    China’s Huawei Technologies Co’s Middle East revenue rose 18 percent to $2.08 billion in 2012 and the roll-out of 4G mobile networks and IT outsourcing will be among its main regional growth drivers, the firm said.

    The world’s second-largest telecom equipment maker also expects Middle East telecom operators to prioritise improving network efficiency, Shi Yaohong, president of Huawei Middle East, told Reuters in an email.
